Baby Dylan - 49 wks (11 mths) old today

"Houston, we have lift-off"! Mr. Dylan has started walking. He takes about 7 to 8 steps and stumbles. For the most part, he picks himself back up and goes again. Some days he walks more than others. Like take today for instance, he has only walked like maybe twice. He has been doing a lot of speed crawling. Almost impossible to keep up with him.

On another note, I can ask him for a kiss and he totally understands what I am saying. He is really getting good with following simple instructions, like passing a cup or giving a hug. And in addition to 'Mama' and 'Dada,' he has started to babble short, fully inflected sentences that sound like a foreign language. We have started naming and labeling objects and people to help his vocabulary grow.

Baby Dylan - 48 wks (11 mths) old today

OMG, Dylan will be 11 months old tomorrow! It is so hard to believe. I find it mind-boggling that in just 11 months (almost a year, sniffle, sniffle,) Dylan has transformed from this tiny, helpless baby into a handsome, brilliant, bubbly little person.

Everyday we go upstairs and he plays and watches Playhouse Disney on his TV in his playroom. He really enjoys hanging out with his toys and having an occasional play date with friends.

Bad to the Bone Hair Day!

Dylan has recently started to finally get some hair, YIPPEE! It is really blond, but getting thick. Here he is sporting his rock star look!

Baby Dylan - 47 wks (10 mths) old today

Everyday Dylan is becoming more and more independent. He is so into feeding himself snacks. Today I found him in the floor eating his puff snacks, and he was talking away. Then I happen to look down and see him feeding himself in all his glory with a puff snack stuck to his head, LOL! He is a mess!!! (no punt intended)

Musical Valentine's Day Balloon!

Yesterday Matt woke up early and went to the store to get Dylan a Musical Valentines balloon. Dylan has always loved balloons, so we just knew it would be the perfect gift. Baby Dylan - 46 wks (10 mths) old today

Here is another photo taken of Dylan from the other night. At first I wasn't too crazy over the backdrop, it kind of looks like the spot were NASA faked the moon landing, JUST KIDDING! After I saw the photo I really loved it.

Dylan is becoming such a daddy's boy. Anytime Matt walks through the door, Dylan is like, "See ya later Mama!" He is Matt's shadow. Still to this day he only wants his daddy to put him to sleep. Although I have to say, he really likes me to feed him. I guess he has made these little decisions all on his own.

Baby Dylan - 45 wks (10 mths) old today

Mr. Dylan had his 10 month pictures made this week. It was suppose to be his 9 month, but we were a little late on it. We are a part of a milestone club, so we had some free pictures we had to take or we were going to lose them. Dylan didn't feel well at all during his session. After we were done he threw up all over his daddy. Poor Dylan, ummm poor Matt too I guess. So there weren't a lot of smiles going on. Actually, the second photo shown (Dylan in the chair) was the only time he was happy, and then he wouldn't even look up he was too tickled. The photography was playing peek-a-boo with him. I love how he swung his legs out with excitement. To some people it might not be picture perfect, but at that moment he had us all laughing and it is perfect to us!

Dylan's First Mardi Gras!

"Laissez les bons temps rouler!" That is by far one of our favorite Cajun expressions, meaning "Let the good times roll!" It strongly conveys the "joie de vivre" ("joy of living") attitude that pervades south Louisiana especially during Mardi Gras Season. We traveled to Louisiana to celebrate with family and friends for this wonderful event and had a blast. The Monday night parade seemed to be a little scary for Dylan. The whole idea of masked strangers riding these monsters (also known as floats), slinging beads at you does sound a bit scary to me too, and I am 25 yrs old. Dylan had a much better time in the daylight on Fat Tuesday. He could see everything much better. The weather held out for us with no rain until our car ride back to Houston.

Wow, 10 months old today!

Dylan is cutting four new teeth. He has been so moody. I know it hurts. Alot of dirty diapers and not alot of sleeping these days for him. On the bright side, these new teeth are comming in on the top. He needed some on the top to help him with the chewing of his cheerios, lol!

I took this photo on Sunday of Matt and Dylan. Matt glows when he plays with his son. I really can see that their expressions show the love of a father and son. So beautiful!

Baby to be, one year later made, family of three!

Almost one year ago, Matt and I went to the museum and park downtown Houston. In front of the Natural Science Museum there is a marvelous fountain were sight see-ers are always stopping and taking photos. So here is our pictures before and after baby!
Oh yeah by the way, while we were there, a Rice University student that was doing a photography project asked to snap of few photos of Dylan. She was very nice, and explained her whole assignment in full detail. Dylan really cheesed it up when she took his pictures. Our Lil' Shutterbug!

Our Museum Visit - Lucy's Legacy

Today Sheree', Dylan and I took a trip to the Houston Museum of Natural Science.

Whether you're a believer is evolution of mankind from apes or not, the exhibit is an amazing view of the Ethiopia's wonder "Lucy" who was discovered some time in the 70's. There are many artifacts from Ethiopia as well as the remains of Lucy. These remains have been under lock and key in Ethiopia and have for the 1st time been released to the public. The Houston Museum of Natural Science is very lucky to be the hosting place to display for all to see.

Baby Dylan - 43 wks (9 mths) old today

In our family room, we have an ottoman with a few of Dylan's toys in it. That way it is a quick clean-up if we have any guests over. So anyways, the other day I missed Mr. Dylan and couldn't find him. He had gotten into his toys with his bottle and was hiding. I was sooo nervous, my heart was in pounding , I didn't see him. Then all the sudden, I heard a burp! So of course I found him and ran and got my camera to snap this shot. He is so silly!
