Baby Dylan - 73 wks (17 mths) old today

Mr. Dylan is growing up so much. Today I put him down for a nap in his room (our normal daily routine) and he was all snug in his bed laying down. I guess about 15 mins or so went by then I hears someone at the front door. I kinda got a little paranoid because I know Matt was in a meeting at work and no one should be turning the knob and messing with the keyhole, so I ran to see what was going on and protect my baby, and it was DYLAN. He had climbed out the baby bed, slipped right out his bedroom door and was trying to go "OUTSIDE" to play.I went from being completely frantic to a state of shock that my 17 month old baby was trying to secretly escape. He doesn't know how to unlock the front door, that I know of. He is surprisingly smart though. When I immediately fussed at him for getting out of his bed he looked up at me with his baby blue eyes and said, MA-MA, OUTSIDE!" and then reached up for a hug and kiss. He is smooth, lol. It didn't take him long to figure out he was in trouble,LOL!

Baby Dylan - 72 wks (16 mths) old today

Hi everybody, good news Dylan's doctor sent a letter about his test results and he is OK and doesn't have to go back to the hospital until December. Yippee! He is going to be alright. She said that his kidneys and liver both look good. We can tell he is looking pretty healthy and is starting to pick his weight back up. Thanks for all your prayers; please continue to keep us in them!

Happy 50th Birthday Madonna!

Happy 50th Birthday Madge! Madonna: queen of reinvention, flaunter of all things taboo, pioneer of the conical brassiere and, on 24th April 2008, a popstar with precisely 26 years' worth of hit-making under her belt. Here are a few things you didn't know about Madonna:

#1: Her biggest fear
Fear of bad reviews, fear of getting old, fear of slipping a disc on stage - these we could understand. What really gives Madonna the willies, however, is "brontophobia" - not a fear of the mighty brontosaurus, but a morbid fear of thunder.

#2: The celebrity relatives
Distant relatives of Madonna include Gwen Stefani (a far-removed cousin), Celine Dion (they share a French-Canadian ancestor) and Mark Wahlberg (who is intermittently rumoured to have brawled/had a fling with her).

#3: The cola catastrophe
In 1989 Madonna was paid $5 million to promote Pepsi cola. After her single Like A Prayer caused a storm of international controversy, the ad was pulled from circulation. It was only aired once.

#4: A certifiable genius?
Madonna is reported to have an IQ of 140. Whether this was measured by one of those dodgy Internet self-assessment quizzes or under the stern gaze of Mensa officials, we're yet to confirm.

#5: The siblings
Madonna has seven siblings: Martin (a struggling alcoholic and failed rapper; "MC Ciccone"), Anthony (a TV production assistant), Christopher (an interior designer and artist), Paula (a go-go dancer and singer), Melanie (a publicist for Brian Eno's Opal Records), Mario (Director Of Merchandising at Maverick Records) and Jennifer (a half-sister whose fate remains unknown). There have been various reports of Madonna cutting ties with her siblings over their refusal to follow the teachings of Kabbalah.

#6: Ice Ice baby
In 1992 Madonna and coiffed rapper Vanilla Ice enjoyed an eight month relationship, during which time she reportedly would phone him in the middle of the night and demand to know if he was with another woman.

#7: The film flops
Madonna's 1986 film, Shanghai Surprise, in which she starred alongside her then husband Sean Penn, cost $17 million to make but grossed a meagre $2 million. She is the only person to have received the Razzie Awards for Worst Actress (Swept Away), Worst Supporting Actress (Die Another Day) and Worst Screen Couple (Swept Away) in the same year.

#8: Dedication's what you need
Hung Up was a number one single in Iraq. And Lithuania. And Argentina, Australia, Austria, Belgium, Brazil, Bulgaria, Canada, Chile, Colombia, Denmark, Estonia, Faroe Islands, Finland, France, Germany, Honduras, Hungary, Indonesia, Israel, Italy, Japan, Latvia, Lebanon, Luxembourg, Malta, Macedonia, Mexico, The Netherlands, Norway, Philippines, Poland, Romania, Russia, Serbia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Turkey, Ukraine and, needless to say, the United Kingdom. All of which earned it a place in the Guiness Book Of World Records.

#9: Read 'em and weep
Most people know all about Madonna's aspirations as a children's author, but who's actually read one of her books? Exactly. Skip the boring bits - here's all you need to know: The Adventures Of Abdi (moral: everything happens for a reason), The English Roses (moral: jealousy is bad), Lotsa De Casha (moral: money won't buy you happiness), Mr. Peabody's Apples (moral: gossip is evil) and Yakov And The Seven Thieves (moral: bad people can do good stuff).

&

#10: Walk of Fame Star
Madonna does not have a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. She was selected for the honour in 1990 but she showed no interest and the invitation has now expired. Walk of Fame spokeswoman Ana Martinez-Holler states that, in order to receive a star, Madonna would have to be "resubmitted for a nomination," adding, "since she is not interested, I highly doubt that she will give a nominator the permission to do so."

Baby Dylan - 71 wks (16 mths) old today

Mission Accomplished!!! Dylan has finally learned to drink his bottle and sippy cups the correct way, lol. No matter where we were, if he was given a bottle or regular sippy cup he would laid down on the floor to have a drink. This way the bottle was tilted upside down allowing the milk, juice, water, etc. to flow without any air. We tried and tried to show him how to hold the cup up so he wouldn't suck air and wouldn't have to stretch out on his back, but this past week he has mastered standing or sitting up and drinking. It is so funny to think that such a small thing is such a big deal, but it is! The only way he could sit or stand and drink was with a sippy that had a straw but now, he can drink from a regular cup or bottle without any issues. We are so proud, lol!!!

The Tasty Love Story of PB&J!

OK, so Dylan absolutely loves Peanut butter & Jelly Sandwiches. I will tell you more about that later, but for now see for yourself!Don't forget to turn up your speakers.

Website Upgrades

You may have noticed that the webpage looks a little different now. Sheree' and I thought we needed to spruce it up a little bit, so we started working on it this past weekend. Over the coming weeks, we hope to overhaul all of the webpages to make them look uniform to our homepage. Please pass the word along to everyone so that they may check out our new look. If you have any suggestions of additional things you think we would like on our page, email theleblancs@mattandree.com or sign our guestbook. One thing that has changed is that when you click on a picture, it will open in it's own window so that you can easily return to our homepage.

Baby Dylan - 70 wks (16 mths) old today

Wow, we have had a crazy week. Today Dylan had his visit with the renal specialist at TCH (Texas Children's Hospital) and we spent the entire day running around getting blood work and tests done. We should have results in 2 weeks so hopefully by the 22nd of the month (at the latest) we will know what is going on with his kidneys, liver etc. Other than that, he seems to be doing just fine. He is growing like a weed! We did take him to go see "Pop Go The Wiggles Live" this past Sunday night. I will be sure to post those photos soon.
