BLACK FRIDAY 2008!!!

Yes my friends it only comes once a year and I wasn't about to miss it. BLACK FRIDAY!!! We had our master plan near perfection by midnight of Thanksgiving day! My mom, my cousin and I woke up around 3:45am /4:00ish am to review and make any last minute revisions to our plan. Normally we only have a few modifications to make then we are out of the parking lot and into the first store. Yes, that's correct, we are normally in the parking lot of the first store that early in the morning! We have a very fair and non-aggressive way of shopping and getting the very sales items that we desire. This is how it goes.... With our "walkie talkies' in hand, we WALK in the store and I mean a fast paced walk, but not running or knocking anyone over. Then we each split up in search for those wonderful bargains. We share information with other shoppers (after we have gotten our items). This seems to make us feel like we are doing a good deed, lol! Really warms my heart!!! HEHEHE! So we repeat these steps at numerous stores until we have reached out daily shopping goal.
So here I am now, completely pooped, but still smiling from ear to ear over all my awesome deals!!!

we'll eat a duck instead!!!

Project 2 - Almost Complete

Here is another project that I have been working on. I wanted to have a built-in AV cabinet in our movie room, but refused to pay what people charge to do this. So I decided to build it myself. I still still some minimal things to finish up on the back side of the unit, but for the most part, everything is completed. The collage is pictures that I was sending from my phone to Sheree' so that she could see project from afar. The other pictures below show the AV rack as well and an updated picture set of the room.

Project #1 Complete

I've been home for a week by myself so far while my wife and son get to visit her family back home in Alabama. I can't wait until Thanksgiving when I will head that way to meet them, stopping in New Orleans to have lunch with my family as well. In the meantime, I have been able to take care of a project that I have wanted to for a while now.

My front door have a camera on it which I can look at from any TV in the house now.

Baby Dylan - 84 wks (19 mths) old today

We are in Mobile this week, Matt will be flying into New Orleans, LA and Dylan and I will drive to meet him in Mandeville on Thanksgiving day to have dinner with his family!

Dylan and I are having a wonderful visit with his grandparents. We have been playing the Wii (yes, Matt actually let me bring it with us)! Dylan is hilarious he loves to watch us bowl, yelling ," bowl, bowl, bowl" and then counting, "1,2,3!!!" It is funny to watch his expressions, especially when someone makes a strike. " OH Wow", he says!!!

Although we are having a lot of fun we sure do miss Matt.

Baby Dylan - 83 wks (19 mths) old today

Here is a picture of Dylan in our favorite picture taking spot, our bathtub. In the mornings I can always catch the greatest photos of Dylan in the tub. I think its the way the sunlight beams through the rain glass window.

On another note, Dylan seems to be eating better. Showing a few odd dislikes to food such as cheese. He can't stand it. So weird for a kid but, he will not touch it with a 10 foot pole.

Baby Dylan - 82 wks (19 mths) old today

After an "upside down" week, things are finally right side up these days. Mr. Dylan is keeping us fully entertained. He is very close to turning flips (as seen in the photo). We went to Gymboree Play & Music Center for a Halloween party (I will post photos soon) and he was very much into doing rolls and jumps on the mats.
He loved Halloween this year with only a few frighting moments. He was suppose to be a lion but forbid to wear the costume. He freaked out every time we would put him in it. So after a few battles with him; we decided it would be much easier to let him be a skunk. It worked out perfect. We saw several other tots dressed as lions but Dylan was the one and only stinker around,LOL!

ROCK THE VOTE!!!

.

A little election knowledge for ya!!!

Why November? Way back when; law-makers picked November because it was perhaps the most convenient month for farmers and rural workers to be able to travel to the polls. The fall harvest was over, (remember that spring was planting time and summer was taken up with working the fields and tending the crops) but in the majority of the nation the weather was still mild enough to permit travel over unimproved roads.

Why Tuesday? Have you ever noticed that our Election Day is always on a Tuesday? Since most residents of rural America had to travel a significant distance to the county seat in order to vote, Monday was not considered reasonable since many people would need to begin travel on Sunday. This would, of course, have conflicted with Church services and Sunday worship.

Why the first Tuesday after the first Monday? Lawmakers wanted to prevent election day from falling on the first of November for two reasons. First, November 1st is All Saints Day, a Holy Day of Obligation for Roman Catholics. Second, most merchants were in the habit of doing their books from the preceding month on the 1st. Apparently, Congress was worried that the economic success or failure of the previous month might prove an undue influence on the vote!"

So following that, here is all we have left to say on the topic.....

Today's the day; It's election time,

go cast your vote with pride.

Voting doesn't cost a dime,

plus the out come you help decide!!!
