Baby Dylan - 17 wks old today

All smiles, as our 'Lil Peanut plays with his toys in his jammies! He is starting to out grow all his clothes, therefor giving me a reason to shop,LOL. It's really amazing to think he will be 4 months old this coming Saturday (the 28Th). We go next Tuesday for a well-baby check-up. I can't wait to find out what he weighs. He's starting to become a such a chunk!!! We love him sooo much!

Baby Dylan - 16 wks old today

So many things have been going on this past week. We did manage to get Dylan's 3 month photos taken, even though he's now 3 and 1/2 months, LOL. It was so stressful trying to get him to smile for the camera. Everytime we would pick him up, he would smile a huge smile, then time for the snap of the photo, he was like, "no way are you gonna even make me do it!" Although, somehow the photographer caught him in a laugh (image of him under the towel) , so we said , we'll take it. Thank goodness we don't have to go back til his 6 month session, LOL!

Dylan's new favorite thing...

OK, so who knew, Dylan loves to watch Television. He is so entertained with it. Although we limit what and how long he watches it, every morning after his first morning feed, he will sit in his high chair and with fascination, watch the TV. So far he likes The Doddlebops and Mickey Mouse Club. Yes, like all babies, he also loves Baby Einstein too.

Dylan's Cartoon pic!

Yesterday , we went to Katy Mills. We happen to see "Texas Tim", a gentleman that had sketched a pic of Matt and I . We were very pleased to be able to get Dylan's pic drawn too. "Texas Tim" 's website is http://www.texastim.com/. Here's the link to the pic of Matt and I, https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj0jnX57hhIDAzsijjaKxjNesuTmXNcDrEHDSFH5gu2RuwiS95N6bI4uSp28HyrSHWPdikTpLh6ADGZolb5c6O2ftirJYkxapNTrASOJiR_HTiTYlNjwfrdsD1w9FhgR3272hX1/s1600-h/Matt-n-Ree-2007.jpg

Happy 4th of July

Today was one of many of the 1st's for Dylan as we celebrated the 4th of July. Although the festivities were not that fancy, we did do some traditional things such as eat hot dogs and go see a fireworks show.

Baby Dylan - 14 wks old today

Dylan has started to play with his toys and boy, he gets to laughing so hard. It's the funniest thing ever. His hand/eye coordination is really apparent these days. He is reaching , slapping and grabbing anything in his near sight. Cracks us up!!!

Gastroesophageal Reflux aka GER, Huh???

Well, after long weeks of continuous bottle feeds that seem to be painful to Dylan, we finally have an answer to his problem, Gastroesophageal Reflux AKA (GER). Today he had an Upper GI done at the hospital to determine his prognoses. He hadn't really been spitting up after feeding, but he had been crying during his bottle feeds and waking up restless and in pain at night. So far we have learned that his condition makes him regurgitate the contents of his stomach — including ouchy digestive acids — into his esophagus, irritating its sensitive lining and giving him a nasty case of heartburn. It happens because the valvelike band of muscle that joins the stomach to the esophagus is still immature, allowing backflow of fluids. Until that muscle tones up, we are keeping his head slightly elevated during and after his feedings. Our pediatrician prescribed medication for him as well. Hopefully soon this will all clear up.
