First Cousins!

Dylan's first cousin Lucie (Matt's sister's baby) visited for Dylan's 1st birthday! It's a lot of fun to watch them play together. She is all little girl, with her doll stroller and pink wardrobe, and Dylan is a complete little boy with his airplane rocker and blue clothes. For Christmas they both received matching pajamas with sock monkeys riding bananas on them. I wish they could be together more often to play. They will be close, perhaps, "Best Buddies"!

Prince Dylan's Royal 1st Birthday Party!

Wow, what a long day! With nearly 60 special party guests in attendance; Dylan celebrated his very first birthday today. Everything looked really cute! His party theme was," Prince Dylan's 1st Birthday Bash!" He was royalty for the day! The yard was decorated, the entrance was showcasing a large photograph from Dylan's 1st birthday photo session and the staircase had 18 decorated party favor bags for all the beautiful babies and children. Balloons and streamers colored, baby blue, royal blue, silver and white; filled the rooms for all to enjoy! There was plenty of food and punch as well. The cakes that are shown above in the picture, were from a nearby bakery called Julies (http://www.juliescakes.net/). The large cake fed all the party guest and the small cake with the crown, was Dylan's smash cake and he did smash it! The adults each recieved a scroll personalized with all Dylan's pictures month by month with a birthday poem (the scroll is the first photo listed above) Anyways, everything went really good.

Dylan would like to take this time to thank everyone for all the cool birthday presents and for helping us celebrate his special day!

Baby Dylan - 51 wks (11 mths) old today

Dylan has turned into Mr. Daredevil all the sudden, climbing on stuff, standing in chairs, etc. Basically terrifying me all the time now, lol. He is so proud of himself too. Walking has now starting turning into running. I have noticed he is becoming very confident in his motor skills. He has starting getting bumps and bruises from all his stunts he performs. The photo to the left was taken the other day. I stepped out of the room and Matt caught him standing up, ROCKING the rocking chair. I didn't know until I saw the picture show up on my computer when I downloaded all the photos I had taken over the week.

Happy 33rd Birthday Matt!

May your birthday bring you as much happiness as you give to everyone who knows you!
Dylan and I want to wish you a very Happy Birthday! (Hope you like the pic I posted)

Baby Dylan - 50 wks (11 mths) old today

Dylan enjoys looking at books and leafing through the pages, though he don't always turn them one by one. He loves great picture books and board books.
He also likes to swing. Ah yes, that use to be his favorite pastime as an infant. We have discovered the park and how wonderful the swings are. It is cute the way his face lights up when we put him in the swing.

One Year Ago Today....

One year ago today I was admitted into the hospital. I had gotten food poisoning from a sandwich shop nearby my house, to start out with, then, I went into premature labor. I know you are thinking how did food poisoning cause my labor to start? The answer is real simple, throwing up for 10 hours straight kicked started my contractions. My doctor was able to slow my labor down enough to be released after a day or two in the hospital. I think I was 34 weeks pregnant at the time. So I really needed to go another week or so, and I did, Dylan was born on March 28th. Even then I was induced into labor and ended up having an emergency c-section because at the last minute Dylan decide to flip, lol. Oh well, everything turned out great after all!

Baby Dylan - 49 wks (11 mths) old today

"Houston, we have lift-off"! Mr. Dylan has started walking. He takes about 7 to 8 steps and stumbles. For the most part, he picks himself back up and goes again. Some days he walks more than others. Like take today for instance, he has only walked like maybe twice. He has been doing a lot of speed crawling. Almost impossible to keep up with him.
On another note, I can ask him for a kiss and he totally understands what I am saying. He is really getting good with following simple instructions, like passing a cup or giving a hug. And in addition to 'Mama' and 'Dada,' he has started to babble short, fully inflected sentences that sound like a foreign language. We have started naming and labeling objects and people to help his vocabulary grow.
