Baby Dylan - 31 wks (7 mths) old today

Our precious little man is now 7 months old. We went last week and had his pictures made. I will be sure to post all them real soon. We are apart of a milestones photo club so we had to go get our photographs for his 6Th month. We were a little behind on them, lol. All and all, he did pretty good. He loves to have his picture taken. I think he might be a print model/football player/lawyer. OK, so I have big dreams for him! He can be whatever he wants to be. We will love him no matter what.

Our Gerber Baby

All the time we have people stop us and tell us how Dylan looks a lot like the Gerber baby. To me, he does resemble the popular icon. What do you think?

Sleepyhead....

Right now it's 6:45am . Dylan has been up and down all night. I think the weather change is getting the best of him. Normally he doesn't wake up til like 8:45ish/9:00ish am, but his nose has been a little stuffy and he can't seem to take his pacifier and breath at the same time. He wants his Pacifier in a bad way. He loves it. So our feet don't normally hit the floor this early (unless I am going to a 18 hr sale at the mall).

The photo to the left was shot a few days ago. He fell asleep while taking his afternoon bottle. I didn't want to wake him, so I snuck up on him and got my photo. He is so sweet;holding his bottle with boths hands! I love it!

We have a visitor, it's Mr. Grumpy!

Earlier this week I captured the photo to the left. I saw a new mood from Dylan. I like to call this mood,"Let me out now or else". He wanted to play as soon as he finished his meal. Normally I put a few toys on the high chair and he is content for a few minutes. I do this so his food has time to settle in his stomach before he goes to playing and rolling around on the carpet. With his reflux, I find that waiting 10 minutes before playtime after a meal seems to keep his food in his tummy and not all over the floor, but on this rare occasion, he was not happy after eating his dinner and decided to toss all of his toys off the high chair and yell at me. I tried my best not to laugh at him. I didn't want to encourage this type of behavior, but it was funny. He was acting like the Incredible Hulk. The photo doesn't show, but he was trying his best to push the tray of the high chair. After taking my pictures, I told him (in a firm voice, never used towards him before) "Not Nice". He seemed to be upset at the fact I told him that. He cried a little then calmed down a bit. I placed his rattles and blocks back onto the tray. He played for a few minutes. Then I let him get on the floor and play.
It's so interesting to watch him really show his emotions. Although I have a feeling this will not be the last time he reacts unhappy to my parenting choices, lol.

Visit to Mobile

This past week Dylan and I went to visit my parents in Mobile, Alabama. We had a wonderful time, while Matt was hard at work in Dallas, Texas. While we were there, my mom, my brother and I took Dylan to the town pumpkin patch at the park. He tried so hard to eat the hay. Everything to the mouth! Anyways, here is the picture we took!

Dylan's First Words!

Dylan's has spoken his first words. It is the sweetest words ever."Da-Da" , our kid is a genius. We were shopping in TJ Maxx when all of the sudden he let this burst out and a cute little laugh then started yelling for his "Da-Da". Matt says that Dylan was trying to yell for him because mommy was shopping at a sale, lol. I did have my camera on hand, and happened to catch his very first words on video.

Can you believe it? Amazing how intelligent he is at such an incredibly young age. Okay, Okay, so we are partial, but very proud of our little man.

For your viewing pleasure, click the play button located above this paragraph and see for yourself......Don't forget to crank up the volume!

Time to store the swing in the attic!

The swing, a new mothers best friend, her part time babysitter; I am gonna miss my old friend,(insert dramatic cry here) as we will soon be putting the swing away for the next LeBlanc baby to use in the future. Dylan is very close to reaching the max weight limit recommended by Fisher Price. He has really enjoyed his swing. Napping, Playing, watching TV; it has been a dear friend to him too,(pause to dry tears from dramatic cry) but, he is outgrowing it. I think the tell tell signs are pretty obvious. We are replacing batteries more frequent than in the past and sometimes it just stops, lol. Anyone who is in the market for a new swing, I highly recommend this swing, The Fisher Price Cradle Swing. It switches direction from front to back swinging or side to side cradle style swinging. We bought the Fisher Price Take-Along swing (recently recalled by Fisher Price,we are currently waiting on our refund from Mattel) for travel purposes, a waste of our money. He couldn't stand it. We would still pack the big swing. So to make a long story short, it is now time to say good bye ole' friend (sniffle-sniffle) as you go to that attic in the sky.

Quack-Quack, Waddle-Waddle........

And the winner is, Rubber Duckies. After many of you voted on our "Upstairs,Kids bathroom design theme", the poll results are as follows:

We will be sure to post pictures as the bathroom takes shape in its Rubber Ducky theme. Thanks for voting!

Baby Dylan - 30 wks (6 mths) old today

At last, Dylan is once again sleeping through the night. I think the recent milestone of learning to roll over onto his stomach; was the result of the past few weeks worth of restless nights. Now he mostly sleeps on his stomach or side. Although, he sometimes wakes up a couple of times a night, we have discovered he can put himself back to sleep after a little bit of fussing. That’s not to say every night is perfect. Some nights he wakes up in the middle of the night and can’t calm himself back to sleep. Occasionally that's when we put him in his swing. Overall, we’re pretty happy with how much better his sleep habits are, if you compare them to the past few weeks. Hopefully after last night (a very long sleeping time) he will maintain this new sleeping pattern.

"Ring My Bell"

Last Friday night we were getting ready for bed when Dylan started ringing the bell on his firetruck. It was the funniest thing. He needed a little assistance at the time picking up the string to the bell but, soon learned how to do it all by himself! Click on the arrow on the picture to the left to play the clip. Enjoy!

Baby Dylan - 28 wks (6 mths) old today

I noticed this past week that Dylan would go near the window and look out or wedge himself into odd places in our family room. Like for instance he would keep going between the table and sofa. So of course I was like, "Son what are you doing? You have plenty of room in the middle of the floor to play, why do you keep rolling over to these weird places that you don't need to be?" Then after relocating him like a half dozen times, I paused and thought, what exactly is he trying to see. That is when I realized what he was doing. He was playing with his newest friend, his shadow. So at that moment of my true understanding of my son's intelligence, I grabbed my camera. I must of took 100 photos.
Sometimes we get so busy with our everyday routine, that we stop and forget the simple free things in life. The real sad thing is that it took a 6 month old baby to remind me. He is so amazing! Thank God he is in our lives!

Baby Dylan - 27 wks (6 mths) old today

My little man is so funny, now he not only tolerates attention from others, he often initiates it. We can go eat dinner somewhere or just be buying Diapers in Wal-mart and he starts wiggling, making noises, blowing "raspberries," and so on to complete strangers. Totally acting like he needs their undivided attention. Such the ham! Although there are a few people Dylan still is unsure about. He truly is his own person.
