Meltdown at The Museum!

Dylan has no plan of leaving any of his toddler tantrums behind at the present moment. He is completely toddler expressing his outbursts of anger and frustration on a regular basis. I was reading online to make sure our little toddler gets enough to eat and sleep because a hungry, sleep-deprived toddler is a meltdown waiting to happen. Yesterday we experienced a "meltdown" at a very public place; the Children's Museum of Houston. OMG.....Dylan didn't want to leave. He wanted to stay and play, like for hours. He really didn't want to go home. He laid down on the floor and kicked and screamed when his daddy told him it was time to go Bye-Bye! After several glares from on looking parents (who acted like,"my kid will never do that", yeah right), Dylan finally got himself together and realized he was not going to get his way. By this time of course we were in the parking lot, lol. He kept telling us, gone gone. He was devastated to leave. We will take him back in the future. Hopefully the next time we won't experience all the DRAMA, lol!!!

Baby Dylan - 76 wks (18 mths) old today

"I have fallen in love, her name is mommy," says Dylan!
Mr. Dylan was totally expressing this statement to me when I took his picture. He is a very photogenic person.
So what's new you ask, um lets see, Dylan counts to number 7 pretty good. Occasionally skipping numbers 4 & 5. He also says "A,B,C!"
Saying all 3 letters loud and clear.
We went to the library today;our weekly visit, for Toddler Time. I didn't realized how much he is picking up on things. They always sing Head, Shoulders, Knees & Toes, all the tots point to there different body parts, eyes, ears, mouth, nose, etc. Dylan has got every single body part correct, saying and pointing to them. They also sing, Shake Your Sillies Out! Well, of course Dylan does all the commands in the song, shakes, sings, claps, wiggles his bottom, stretches to the sky. It's pretty amazing how his mind is putting things together!!! Always giving us something brag about,LOL!

Baby Dylan - 75 wks (17 mths) old today

This is our last week with my parents here in Alabama. Dylan has had a wonderful time playing with his cousins and his grandparents. Hopefully we will get to visit again real soon.
We took him and his cousin to the park for a picnic and to feed the; as Dylan says, the "Quack Quacks" (ummmm ducks)

Let's see, what else is new, he is learning lots of new words everyday. He newest words are "Lady" & "Dallas". He saw and heard his Paw-Paw call the horses by their names, Lady & Dallas, now he gos to the window and yells," LAAAADY, DALLLLAS." Complete monkey see, monkey do. So cute!

Sesame Street Live!

I have one simple question.... "Can you tell me how to get, how to get to Sesame Street?"

We recently took Dylan to see the Sesame Street Live Production;"When Elmo Grows Up".The Sesame Street friends do a little dreaming of their own in this wonderful show. Grover wants to be a police officer; Bert and Ernie plan to be forest rangers and Telly dreams of life as a cowboy. We also saw Abby Cadabby, one of Sesame Street’s newest members, who wants to be a fairy godmother! Dylan was so excited when he saw Elmo on the sign when we drove up to the civic center arena. HE has always enjoyed watching Sesame Street on PBS and Elmo's feature films, but after seeing them all in person he knows a lot of the characters that live on Sesame Street by name. Here's a little translation:

"Quack Quack" is Big Bird

"LALALA" is Elmo

"Cook-Cook" is of course no other than Cookie Monster himself

Here is a collage of some of the pics we took as well as a video of Dylan getting his very own "LALALA" balloon! Enjoy!

Road to Recovery....

Electricity is back on and things are looking good. I spoke to Matt and he said we didn't receive any gifts of destruction from hurricane Ike! Matt actually evacuated to San Antonio Texas with his aunt where they stayed with our other family members. We were very blessed, many people are with out homes as we speak due to this gigantic storm. So please continue to keep those people in your thoughts and prayers as they travel down the long road to recovery!

Baby Dylan - 75 wks (17 mths) old today

As Hurricane Ike slowly makes its way to the Texas coast line; Dylan and I are in Mobile, Alabama for the next 2 weeks visiting with my family and friends. Matt is back in Texas preparing the house and making plans to evacuate to a safe place. Matt drove us to Alabama on Saturday,(where we took Dylan to "Sesame Street Live in Concert", I will post pics of that later, promise) anyways he flew back to Houston on Sunday, which leaves us in the current situation that Matt is taking care of in Katy. Situation being: boarding windows, getting gas and supplies for the storm aftermath etc.
Meanwhile Dylan is having a blast hanging out with his grandparents (my parents) while I am in a little panic mode over HURRICANE IKE!!! Keep us in your prayers!

Baby Dylan - 74 wks (17 mths) old today

Well, it has now happened; we disassembled the baby bed and converted it to the toddler bed. Up and down all night is Dylan's new routine. I will be sure to post pics of the new transformation real soon.
Hurricane Gustav passed through this weekend and gave us the opportunity to visit with Matt's family as they evacuated to our home for shelter from the storm. Luckily everyone and everything back in Louisiana held up. Dylan was very excited to visit with his grandparents and his great grandmother for a few days and so were we!!!

American Idol 2008 Tour - Cont'd.Here's 2 more fun photos!

American Idol 2008 Tour

Matt and I recently had the pleasure to spend an afternoon hanging out with some of the best singers around; the cast from American Idol season 7. It was such honor to get to meet them all.

Well I must confess something a bit embarrassing. Brooke White, came running across the room and told me about how she loved my shoes, and of course I was like blown away,so I told her thanks (never looking to see what shoes I had on) then she said that she really liked both of them. OMG, that's when I looked down and saw, I had put on 2 completely different shoes. I was freaking out. She and the rest of the cast laughed and laughed, saying they would never forget me. I felt like such an idiot.Who wears 2 different shoes to a celebrity meet and greet party.??? The answer, I do.Jason Castro said he wouldn't of noticed at all until Brooke pointed it out! Micheal Johns assured me it would be alright since it would be dark in the stadium during the concert later in the night. How embarrassing, anyways, here is a link below that will take you to a few of our photos from that night, please don't look at my feet, HA HA HA!!!

Happy Labor Day!

Traditionally, Labor Day is celebrated by most Americans as the symbolic end of the summer. To me it's the time when popular fashion etiquette dictates that white should not be worn after Labor Day.Originally it was white shoes that were taboo— white or "winter white" clothing was acceptable. This custom is fading some what. Some fashion magazines are jumping on this growing trend, calling people who 'dare' to wear white after Labor Day innovative, creative, and bold. (they are crazy) Slowly but surely, white is beginning to break free from its box, and is becoming acceptable to wear whenever one pleases. In the world of western attire, it is similarly tradition to wear a straw cowboy hat until Labor Day. After Labor Day, the felt hat is worn until Memorial Day. So just incase any of you are out there after September 1st, 2008 sporting white shoes; just beware that the fashion police could give you a ticket.
